Barrus opened its botique at Nişantaşı, heart of Turkish fashion, in 2013. Head Designer Neslişah Yılmaz and Designer Nur Çağlayan united forces with CEO Volkan Hidayetoglu.

Having obtained her BA and MA degrees in Fashion Design from the prestigious Marmara University in İstanbul, Neslişah Yılmaz finally realized her dreams of bringing Turkish and Anatolian heritage into global fashion world. Barrus first chose to use marbling, the ancient Turkish handicraft that has enchanted even the Queen of England during her visit to Bursa, also hometown of Neslişah Yılmaz.

After the immediate interest to its couture collections by leading celebrities in Turkey, Barrus offered its AW16 couture collection to international media during London Fashion Week in February 2016. The marriage of marbling with sharp, yet romantic designs came as a sweet surprise for the international fashion industry. The success of the catwalk show was followed by a number of UK celebrities selecting Barrus designs to be fabulous on the red carpet including BRITS and Glamour Awards.

Barrus moved into its new and chic boutique in a landmark building at Nişantaşı as well as introducing its bridal line, Barrus Wedding shortly after London Fashion Week. Barrus continues to combine its heritage adding a modern twist in its couture, bridal and ready-to-wear collections.
