#GalacticBABE, photography by Korryn Hale for HUF Magazine

“The 60s was a very progressive era. The US was in a space race against Russia. The Civil Rights Act of 1964 was passed, and women were joining the work force. Despite the forward thinking climate of the time, NASA wouldn’t allow women to be astronauts. Women were left to express their enthusiasm for the space race through space age fashion. With the current social climate, it is important to look to our history. This was a time when innovation and progression were present in every aspect of society. With #GalacticBABE, I hope to bring the innovative spirit of the 60s to the forefront again, this
time, with a woman leading the way.”Korryn Hale
